Sadly disappointed. Story is about Gabrielle and Travis. Not up to what I know what the author can write. She does not usually write about shallow characters but Gabrielle was shallow and selfish. Whinny even. Not willing to compromise. So, even though Gabrielle is the one who could move she makes Travis give up his dreams. Yuck. Who is the real one loving the other? Not Gabrielle.Ending too abrupt.
Author needs to go back to writing a full length book with character development and a full story line. So many of her books are good. This book is just not up to the standard Crsytle’s usual standard. Very disappointed. Have never written a poor review on her before.
Sent it back for refund.

This book mostly contained internal,worrywart dialog! Unbelievably there was very little actual conversation between Gabby and Travis,they both were too busy going over the pros and cons of their relationship in their heads! This was kind of like junior high dynamics! No, I do not recommend reading it.
I usually really enjoy Christine Kersey's books, but was really disappointed in this one. Could hardly finish the book. Not much of a story line that was really dragged out for an entire book. Was more about what 15 year olds would say and do than 25 year olds. Disappointed
The love we form when we're young and sometimes stick with us. Gabriella had a crush when she was younger, and that attraction didn't fade while she was away. Travis might not remember her right away, but she's never really forgotten him. Gabriella and Travis have a refreshing, clean, and sweet romance that is easy to love. If you're looking for a book that you feel good about and makes you smile, this is a great one to try.
CRUSHING ON YOU by Christine Kersey series Emerald Falls book 1. Gabrielle taking her cat to the vet, new to town and soon would be teaching at the elementary school. Travis is the veterinarian,, also just moved here, the same guy she was to shy to speak to. When he finnishes his internship plans on leaving. Any chance of love and for him to notice her and for Travis to stay. A good beginning to the series, plot was easy to read, more of a YA in this one. She is a good writer and enjoy her books.
Loved it! Its not often that as a reader I can find a great book that doesn't have all the foul language and explicit sex scenes that just aren't necessary to make a book great. Most Authors have not figured that out yet but this one has. If you want to read a great book about two people finding each and falling in love then here it is!

I purchased a copy of the novella An Emerald Falls Romance Series books 1 Crushing on You Travis and Gabriella by Christine Kersey and this review was given freely.
Elementary school teacher Gabriella returns to Emerald Falls when she inherits her Aunt Mary's cottage reuniting with her teenage crush who is her new veterinarian,Travis. This is a clean and sweet novella with a touch of humor, heartbreak, a shy tomboy, excellent friends, a lot of self reflection, and a happy ending.
Very immature writing. Needs lots of work before it would be publishable. The author uses italicized thoughts instead of showing any emotion, setting, and character. The book could be titled tell don't show.
